I think the 0.996:1 is the tallest ratio available for the LT95,FWD's might be trying to sell you what you've allready got.Eric.
I have an LT95 behind my 4BD1 and I've been thinking about fitting a taller ratio gear set sold by FWD in Brisbane. I'm told it is roughly equivalent to having an overdrive (or 5th gear) when you are in 4th, but I don't know what the actual ratio works out to. The gears sold by FWD have 45 teeth (intermediate) and 26 teeth (high range gear).
Does anybody know how many teeth the standard t-case has on its input gear and on the intermediate gear that the input gear meshes with? Alternatively, does anybody know what the t-case ratio works out to with these gears fitted (at present I have the standard 0.996:1)
If anybody has tried this gear set and has any comments, I'd be happy to hear them.

The 4bd1 powered counties with a Lt95 came with 0.996:1 high. Wouldn't like to make it much higher or 1st would be like 2nd. I think it is about 2400 at 100km/h. (31" tires).

Hi,
The info below is from HSVrangie, moderator from the OL forum.
'LT95 4spd transfer high range ratios and tooth counts
High range ratio 1.174 - 47 teeth
High range ratio 1.113 - 48 teeth
High range ratio 1.1227 - 43 teeth
High range ratio 0.99621 - 45 teeth
The tooth counts are on the large plain gear that is fitted to the
intermediate shaft.
thanks to
Swamp.'
cheers.
Thanks everyone. I'd still like to get the count for all 4 gears so I can work it out for sure. I want to make sure I really do have a handle on all the options.
Hi Dave,
I think all your concerns have been addressed already. You already have the high ratio you want.
cheers,
If the LT95 and the 4BD1 were paired together from factory it will have the .996to1 in it allready if you want beta road speed id sugest ya fit taller tyres what is it in a s3 stage 1 or a county either way wont take much to fit 35in tyres and will give you a beta top speed or lower revs at cruise![]()
G`day Dave ,
See an old post i added to , was a similar question at the time but you got more .
Had it awhile but you helped prompt me to add it .
Hope it`s of use .
Also if you want to verify , RITTERS in Melb have the infomation which relates to RR , just talk nicely and they may tell depends on who and which day .
