    Radiator flush/cleaner

does anybody know what is good radiator/coolant flushing product for the Td5, so i can properly clean the system to add OAT coolant....(something that wont react to anything in a negative way to the Td5)
Will this stuff work ? Radiator Flush and Clean - Nulon Products Australia
    Thanks Adrian

    Adrian,

For a 1999 there should be no need to put any other flush solution throught the cooling system. If the coolant has been changed regularly you most likely will get very little scale and rust and any other foreign material.

As the Td5 appears to very sensitive to incorrect coolant I would be more worried about getting the cleaning fluid out than having a slightly dirtly cooling system.

Of course this would change if you would be flushing the Series out as the Nulon is more applicable to that.

Probably should have mentioned that its currently running green coolant (I dont think its OAT) so i just wanna make sure i get it al out before i add OAT.
    Thanks Adrian

the best type of cleaner to get a 'standard' silicate based coolant out in preparation for OAT is an acid based cleaner, not the standard alkali based ones.
Tectaloy make one, just can't remember what it's called. (their alkali based cleaner is called Mukout)

BTW, a tech from Tectaloy/De-Ville Australia suggested this.
