    Gearbox Mount Probs

    Gday Guys
Well gear box and motor back together and sitting in the SWB, engine mounts are bolted up but problem is the gearbox end. The mounts are out by 1/2 inch. I have a series IIA 6cyl gearbox with the series III 4cyl bell housing and Clutch set up. I am at a loss as to why this would not line up straight away. Can anyone shed some light onto this problem?

    Thanks
    Bazz

just loosen the mounts off in the brackets on the front and rear, then bar the thing into position before tightening up all the bolts that Should get it.

to bazz,do you mean the prop shaft is not in the centre of the hole in cross brace of the chassis. if not ,did you completely dismantle the gearbox mount brackets and mix them up, if you look closely at them they are slightly different this is the ones that bolt to chassis end try swapping them over i had the same problem on my ser 111 109 now propshaft is in centre hope this helps . from leyland

    Thanks Guys
I did take them apart but when transfered I unbolted 1 put it on the other gearbox then did the same with the 2nd. I will loosen all bolts and brakets and move around to fit.

    Thanks
