    Any Feedback on this please

    Hi,

I was trolling through info and saw this:

Hunter Gas Technologies - LPG injection system for diesel engines

Has anyone got any feedback in it please as I am looking at all options.

I am going to buy a D2 TD5 Disco 1999 or later and thought that I might enhance the fuel economy some how.

If this is a good option it may also help others given the current climate.

    Regards,

    V

Enhance fuel economy - you are going the get about 30mpg+ as it is on a standard TD5 for a 2tonne+ vehicle with the aerodynamics of a rhino - so you need to ensure it is worth it - $3K+ for a conversion is a lot of Kms - on the basis of mpg - is questionable.

    lpg injection for diesels

I would have to agree with Garrycol. You get good economy with a TD5 as it stands.
Sure, the price of Diesel is higher than it should be but LPg is going up as well and I don`t think the long term effects of such technology for the td5 engine has been fully explored.

    Leave well enough alone!

Ring them up and talk to them.I got my D1 hooked on gas by them and they have a 90 Td5 that they connected so ask about it.The last time I was there they were going great guns on conversions and have had good returns on them. Pat

    Thanks

    Hi and thank you,

It is all a bit spin the chamber but then at the end of the day we have to do the 'cost benefit analysis' and that is an individual thing to be sure.

I guess that this is it at the end of the day!

    Kewl

    I will explore further.

And so much thanks for the imput!

The only benefit i can see of the expense of a DG conversion is if you regularly tow a large trailer or van that requires the extra power but for economy alone it doesnt add for me.

Personally, I think one would do it for the power, not economy. Compare it to an intercooler upgrade and a chip upgrade.

Add the fact it can be removed and put on any other turbo diesel - unlike a chip or intercooler which are model specific.
