Oxygen Sensor D2
I just had the oxygen sensor replaced on 1 bank, drove 1,000kms and the other one has spat the dummy. Any ideas why the second bank would be faulty? Car has a brand new gas system fitted. The gas installer said the LR specialist should have fitted 2 new oxygen sensors at the same time, any thoughts?
What is the cause of o2 sensors dying on v8 D2's, cannot get a straight answer from LR guy or Gas installer.

Not the expert on this subject but:
I would put it down to coincidence at this stage (happens to the best of us all)
and suggest:
The "gas installer" is just thinking aloud, while the "LR guy" is not charging for / installing new parts that are not required at the time of service
However, If you burn out this new set in the next 1000k's / then i think you have a problem

Don't tell me you are using leaded LPG. Didn't anybody warn you?
Seriously though, there are several problems that can show up on an engine diagnostic as a faulty O2 sensor. I wonder if the dealer or whoever just took the readout as gospel.
Some things that can give an O2 sensor warning are
leaking exhaust manifold before the sensor (low output)
leaking inlet manifold (low output)
bad plugs poor leads (high output ie rich)
So my first instinct is that it may not be the o2 sensors, but something done in the conversion.
Having said all that most o2 sensors have a planned life of 100K-130K, even though most people never change them..
