Yeah it all went well - but the best part is it's all STILL going well.....
Since fitting it I've done a number of trips, with quite a few of them using the locker. I ended up setting it up from scratch which was a pain, but it sure as hell was worth the saving of paying for it to be done.
And if you get stuck - well you have this forum. Biggest trick is follow the instructions. The missus may give you a look or three when she sees you using her oven though!![]()
The main part I'm worried about is the shimming of the carrier bearings. I remember reading ages ago about a shim kit from ARB, but when I ordered my locker today I asked him about a shim kit and just got a blank stare back, then he wanted me to show him where it was on the ARB website, and I can't find it. The hassle is that it's a 3 week turn around from ordering to receiving parts from ARB. I'll be well pee'd off if I have to wait 3 weeks for the locker, then another 3 weeks for the shim kit to fit it!
How did you do your shimming, with a kit from ARB, or somewhere else?

There is a few shims from memory in the kit. BUT you can use your original shims - however honestly I'd just order some in from any diff place. They'd probably have them on the shelf.
One problem I had is that you need a 2 jaw bearing puller to remove the bearings. BUT it does take a bit of force. You will need a DECENT puller, not something cheap from supercrap.
Cheers

you are doing a stint at Kapooka it seems, I have just been through Latchford myself doing OJT on my last 15% now, it is so funny but true about the instructors and most have been there a long time some have 15, 20 years their. good rig you have to, how much was the locker.
The lockers are about $1050 ea and the compressor was around $300. BUT I did spend a bit of money at the same time, so not sure if it was knocked down a little for me or not.
