Hey slunnie, I just changed the diff and kept the original axles.
My delema now is I was hoping to bring it along on sunday to the watagans but now may not be able to sort out a replacement in time.
Just a thought. does any body want to swap a front 3.54 for a 4.7.1 ?
cheers.
Maybe. Where are you?
I can lend you one if you'd prefer to send yours back for exchange. It's not in the car so that makes it easy for you.
I'm in Emu Plains.
Hi Ron, Thanks, But i called the mob who sent it and they did send the wrong one!. It gets better. They are more than happy to send me the right one and let me keep the wrong one as the freight is so costly. So its up for grabs if any one wants it, for a price;) I have no intention of putting a bigger motor in the series so i dont need it.
Cheers
Ron, I used to run a pair of 4.3:1 diffs out of Rover 75 cars in my Holden 186-powered SWB SIIa (with 7.50 x 16 tyres) back in Christchurch, NZ. Finding a pair of Rover 75's with serviceable diffs which you can scavenge might be a bit of a challenge these days. The resultant ratios worked nicely though. (And I was able to graft a Hilux clutch-pack centre into the rear diff to give me LSD later on too.)
Sorry about the thread hijack, Willvine!
