RRC Alternator - whats the biggest you have fitted?

What is the biggest alternator you have fitted to a classic Rangie.

I need a big one for the Dancing Hippo and one that just bolted straight in would be the best.

    Any recommendations?

    I have 2x85 =170. How is that?
Seriously though , once you get over 85 they get much more expensive. An 85 amp from a Magna is about 200 bucks new. if you compare against bigger ones they are expotentially more expensive.
There is room to fit a second one above the water pump , swung off the spare lugs on the aircon compressor. You need to wire it in, and make up a few brackets and run a longer belt.

Thanks Philip, but I would really rather stick with just one. Ther is already enough mods under the bonnet and I need to keep room in case ever decide to "blow"it.

I did expect it to be expensive. I think a 120A would be good, 150A even better, but I have not found one yet.

    Alternator

Mate getting up into 150 - 160 amp will set you back around $5-600. I think from memory that around the 120amp mark is the biggest for a direct bolt in. Someone will correct me I'm sure as its been a while since I've had a V8

    120A would be fine.

Anyone know who makes a 120A that bolts straight in. Needs to be V belts as well, although I am sure pulleys can be changed.

    Ok thanks.

From memory, I think the multi fit ones were very very expensive. I might be wrong but when I checked a couple of years ago I thought I was told about $600 for a 120A.
I ended up getting an alternator from the Falcon V8 which was a very close fit, but was still only 85A

If I cant find anything else then I will just have to with the bosch multifit.
