Polyair height increase/Unichip
I fitted new Bilstein shocks and Polyairs today after the Boges died on the Strezlecki.
Also split my small fingernail ,dammit.
Anyway the rear seems to be up about an inch.
I already have LRA orange springs on which should be a 2 inch lift.
I have fitted the Polyairs with the top and bottom rubber spacers, and I am sure that on my old 2 door , I didn't have the lower spacers which are about 1inch high.
Any one have any experience on what is the best combination regarding the spacers as this sets the height.
I have to drop the shocks next week anyway, as someone at Bilstein decided to swipe 2 of the lower bushes, so I had to use old ones.
At the moment my headlights are pointing at the ground, but the front Billys will raise it a bit when I get them.
I am having them revalved from sport to comfort as they do not import comfort any more, to match the comfort rears that I bought. Makes em expensive at plus $200 for the revalve.
I also fitted new Panhard rod bushes today. what a **** of a job when you do not have a press. Hovever in the end a bolt, some washers and a rattle gun did it after hacksawing the old ones and cold chiseling them out.
Ah the joys of touring.
For info , there is only one Unichip agent in Sydney now, a guy at Granville.
I want to get my tune checked and Graeme Cooper cannot do it , as they had to hand back the software when they quit.
The ex tuners cited different reasons for quitting, such as poor support and expense.
So I have booked in for Thursday to have a dyno session and check the tune, particularly the "electronic vacuum" advance as I do not think I have any!
I will post the result. I looks like the Haltech interceptor is taking a lot of market share from Unichip.
