I've been running the rangie without a spigot bush for......
.....about 5 years now.![]()
Gudday and can someone please advise me on the following'
I have a holden 173 red motor out of a landrover it has the correct conversion kit for the Sereies 3 gearbox it will be mated with a holden fly wheel and I have purchaced a new clutch plate, new slave cyl, and new clutch release thing, what I am not sure of is the bush that goes into the fly wheel and then the shaft from the gearbox goes into that I think this is how it goes together and I am a first timer at this stuff. Where do I get hod of a bush for a holden fly wheel that takes the landrover gearbox shaft, I have checked this site but still cant get what I need to know. When I do get one are they easy to push out or do I need special tools. I think I will get the flywheel refaced at the local machine shop and perhaps they could push out the bush and fit the new one. As I said Im a complete novice at this stuff and any help would be appreciated, the car should be together by September October.(Not sure which year tough!!)
Thanks

Sorry for deleting much of your post.
If the original setup of the holden flywheel was done correctly, the bush is the standard Land Rover part available from any Land Rover parts supplier like All 4XFour in Kotara or Land Vehicle Spares in Silverdale. (Both NSW)
The bush shouldn't be too difficult to get out.
If you are taking the flywheel off to have it re-surfaced, then it will push out from the back.
Before reassembling the flywheel with a new bush, soak the bush in a tin of gearbox oil and heat it on the stove and then let it cool slowly while it's still bathing in the oil. This will sinter the bush with the oil.
Dry off the bush and insert it in the flywheel. Don' put grease anywhere near the bush as it always gets onto the clutch plate, the oil sintering will be sufficient.
Good luck, keep us updated with pics.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Quigs,
Four Wheel Drives in Melbourne list them in their catalogue. They are good to deal with and usually post pretty quickly.
Cheers,
Russ
thanks everyone. I will orderone from fourwheel drives as I recieved their catalouge a couple of weeks ago, must have missed the bush bit but will checkit out right now. On the gearbox oil thing I gues just a straight 90 oil is the way to go?
Thanks again to you all
