i use penrite gas 20w/60 in our petrol mitsy vans.we change the oil in the petrols every 10k& the lpg ones every 15k.most of them do around 230k before we get rid of them....have never had an engine problem ever.
we started using penrite around 18 years ago & it reduced oil consumtion to virtually nothing between services.

it is available at autobarn in 20l containers...try & get a trade acount ,it saves a few bucks.

in the td5 i always used castrol fully syn 5w/30,never had any problems, never used a drop.

after going to m.r. auto they use valvoline 5w/40 & suggested this is the correct grade for the td5 diso, and they have used it for a while with no probs.

    Achoo!

    Call me a sceptic.
    Call me suspicious.
Has anyone here ever heard of the term "viral marketing"?

I've used the Penrite stuff myself in the past, but I distrust back-slapping festivals.

    1. Most oils do an OK job if you use as them directed.
    2. All else being equal, you get what you pay for.

    cheers

    Yep, sprung.

Except I don't use any Penrite product.... oops, I fibbed, I have some Penrite hydraulic jack oil.
I last ran Penrite engine oil over fifteen years ago, and have been highly 'suspicious' of it since.

If you do a search of the forum you will find what lubes I tend to run in my vehicles, and I don't expect to be running Penrite in the future either, but hey, it's the www and I can claim and say anything

Well someone watches the evening infotainment programs that poise as investigative journalism!

One hopes they also watch with a critical eye and or watch or read sources critical of their bad journalistic practices. The viral marketing segment was reviewed by ABC's Media Watch a fortnight ago, not only was it recycled footage at least one of the products has been out of production for several years.

If you want to know why I use Penrite as opposed to other quality oils, it is a quality oil made in Australia by an Australian Owned company. Those two factors are important to parochial little me and none of the others offer both of those factors.

    Diana

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Oils definitely not oils

Who uses Penrite oils asks rick130.

Well rest easy knowing that it is doing its job.

I can't say too much as some info I get at times is confidential, but lets just say that the Sin range and HPR Diesel 5 is showing up very well in real world use from a number of different end users and better than some 'high performance' oils that should be better. (cryptic enough ? )

Just thought I'd pass it on.
Well thought i would pass this on. I found this in a F... forum (shock horror) a few days ago but nevertheless made interesting reading on test results of various synthetic and semi synthetic oils.
