its been a while since I played with a 77 and cant remeber if they had the cast or pressed clutch fork, if its pressed it might be bending But your main culprits are usually the slave or master cylinder leaking fluid and running you out of fluid.
how was the fluid level last time you checked it?

Clutch fork in the 93 Disco is FTC2957 the tin type one. (All disco run this, cast in only early Rangies). The ball may have worn through. In most cases you will push the pedal all the way the the floor before feeling any pressure. But I would check cylinders first as its the easiest thing, as BlKnight said.
