You are kidding right??? In the UK you can get just about any mods approved for road use.
You would have no hope here. Sam's old mogrover is much better engineered, and would be much safer on the road, yet even it can't be registered, for many reasons.

hey ben i think it is actually registered isn't it?
but obviously not 'approved'
How can you say it is better engineered have you seen both vehicles? I have looked at the mog rover and read about it and it is well engineered for it's purpose comp work. I'm not so sure how it would handle on the road though and i don't think i'd be putting my hand up for long distance trek in it.
I've looked at it, watched it compete and read all about it also.
I think that from an engineering perspective it would be fine on the road. The geometry etc is all very good, springs are RangeRover - a heavier vehicle, the shocks are from Ford Trucks so will damp well enough. Perhaps it wouldnt be comfortable, but then again what series jigger ever was. I tend to think that the thing that would make that not so nice on the road is just the tyre type and the unsprung weight. Even the brakes are oversized for that thing on 44's.
Although that thing is tall, it is also very wide.
