Ben, have you looked at any small 4wd tractor front complete axles???

could be a good place to start, some run double cardens and have wicked steering lock

Coming from Rockhampton I can say that YES there are radically lifted rigs around but I have seen more elsewhere in Qld and interstate. It comes down to luck really. If the law take a dislike to you you will most certainly be sent to the pits for a transport inspection of your mods. If they dont you're sweet until you have a prang and then insurance wipes you and you're really in the @#it. Keep it legal or get it engineered approved and you're sweet.

I have a 2 inch lift and 285 BFG muddies. Never been stopped yet on anything I would consider drivable.

Springs are 3 inch lift. Probably would have very little upward travel as it would rip the guards to shreds. Downward travel would be pretty normal though I'd i've thought mind you with tryes that big you probabably wouldn't need that much flex just run over the top of everything.

It appararently doesn't work out that much more expensive than giving landrover axles the full treatment to get them as strong as they can be. The unimogs with portals and built in lockers would still be much stronger than these. Just ask those who've done the upgrades it cost's thousands to run axles with lockers that would put up with the load even 35's put on let alone 37's.
There are vehicles that are built for go.
There are vehicles that are built for show.

It's the vehicles built for show that cause the public to be not so accepting of the vehicles that're built for go.

I would really like some portals or Mog diffs on a Fender, but it would just be for the bush as I wouldn't want to take the risk of ruining someone else life in a road accident because I selfishly didn't obey the laws which are written for a reason..so we can all travel in relative peace.
Keep ya huge tyres fellas but save em for the bush....the **** factor kicks in when 37"s are in the local mall car park and the suspension is as clean as the day it was manufactured.
