Contact your Local Authority and ask. Then write a letter explaining that you need to be able run a tyre that is safe and capable in an off-road area as the standard one don't cut it.
We were informed by Vicroads that they are adopting the new standard, just a matter of when. We have since recieved a letter in the mail stating our exemption from the rule.

Just like exhausts... No liability if you get a louder than legal, modified exhaust fitted....
Its the drivers responsibility to ensure a vehicle is in a safe/roadworthy condition.
What slunnie said. Ideally (for optimum steering), the track should be kept the same when you fit wider tyres - but this isn't usually possible.Quote:
