Contact your Local Authority and ask. Then write a letter explaining that you need to be able run a tyre that is safe and capable in an off-road area as the standard one don't cut it.
We were informed by Vicroads that they are adopting the new standard, just a matter of when. We have since recieved a letter in the mail stating our exemption from the rule.
Stu
Only if they state they are correct fitment for that vehicle (mis represent)
But 99.9% of the 4wd population walk in and specify what they want...
Just like exhausts... No liability if you get a louder than legal, modified exhaust fitted....
Its the drivers responsibility to ensure a vehicle is in a safe/roadworthy condition.
I've got a question about this, i know you wrote to vicroads, but where did you send it eg, what dept. how did you find out about this cos i have just been crushed by the "LAW":mad::mad: and fitted 245/70/16's because no one would go larger even the 4wd joint here wouldn't do it.
