    Tdi water trap butterfly screw

    Hi

The wings of the butterfly nut to drain the water trap in my 300tdi Defender have been broken off and the screw looks like it might be frozen.

Anybody had any experience with fixing this problem? If it eventually comes out can you replace it?

According to the mechanic it's no biggie because you can drop the whole bowl, prettery, but it's something i want to take more notice of between services after reading water in fuel threads and if it's too hard I'm sorry to confess I won't do it.

    TIA

My approach will be to bribe a farmer mate with a spare bleeder bung for his Defender and then sit and drink a coffee/beer watching him deal with removing my sedimizer, somehow getting the sheered bung out, pop the new one back in and voila. His of course will not sheer off because he checks it every few weeks and he will enjoy pointing this out to me.

If he ever gets internet access and comes to this post, I'll be stuffed though.
