    9.35:1 will run unlkeaded fine, if it becomes an issue, you'd merely have to give the dizzy a quick turn to back of a little timing if it begins to rattle

    after we built it up from a 4.0L cross bolted block with 3.5 hi comp heads, a stage one cam from bruce davis, the original inlet manifold with the carbys, it wouldn't run on anything but premium without pinging.
    since then i put one of those fuelstar catalysts on, nowi can run on uleaded in an emergency, but it's best on 95 octane. recently put electronic ign on it and it's better again.

    That's factory fitment. Then there are the replacement engines.....

    9.35:1 is HC

    Just checked, I have a 46D with a slightly dished piston and there are some milled cut outs for valve clearance. Can take a pic, would like to run this over 10:1 for LPG only set up. If flat topped pistons won't belt the valves (or the have milled cut outs like mine) then this would be the best way to achieve this. Not a fan of milling heads.....

    This guy aparently makes them to look just like standard 20L cans. Can make them into any shape aparently. Makes me want to go out and spend $3000 on an LPG conversion just to have the cans!! Not sure how he connects to the main tank though, adaptor hose to the nozzle must be expensive....

    I think people use forklift bottles as emergency LPG "gerrycans" because of the size and the fact that they can discharge the liquid when lying on their side. Regular 9KG propane bottles are designed to supply propane vapour, so they have to be inverted to decant into a vehicle LPG tank. If you had a dedicated LPG powered vehicle, it would be a good backup to have the hose so you could use your stove's 9kg bottle as an emergency fuel reserve.

    However what I am most interested in is this guy who can make LPG tanks any shape! I desperately want a couple of tanks about 200mm high 300mm wide and 850mm long that will fit into the sills of my RRc (would be the same tanks in the Disco 1 & 2) that would carry about 25 Lt/LPG each side and so taking my total LPG up to about 110Lt. If I could do that I wouldn't be spending 10min every couple or three hours in the service station.

    If you find his contacts ask the question? He may get some orders for quite a few tanks just from AULRO.
