leaking slave CYL or the Master is bypassing back into the fluid resiviour.
check the fluid, pump up the clutch and then have someone keep an eye on the fulid level OR use a rod to hold the clutch pedal down and keep an eye on it yourself.
Driving through WA the clutch pedal pressure on my 300tdi Defender started to disappear.
At Ceduna adjusted the master cylinder push rod to get some more pedal, but this had virtually disappeared again by the time I got back to Vic.
Have adjusted the pushrod again but havent done many klm's since and am running out of rod adjustment.
Clutch has done 180,000K. Slight weep from master cylinder, just enough to moisten pushrod, nothing major.
Why do I keep gradually loosing pedal?
Would bleeding the system help?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rob
