    Td5 Wiring Help

    Hi,

I was just replacing the injector harness on my brothers Td5 Defender last night and unfortunatley the plug on the main wiring harness that plugs into the front of the engine (injector harness) was brittle with age and crumbled.

I was just wondering if anyone would have the plug of an old harness that I might be able to buy?

    Thanks

There have not been any responses so far, so you might have to try purchasing one from the wreckers. Probably better than having to get a new wiring loom.

    Cheers,

    Aaarrggh!
This is a problem as I have tried numerous times to buy just the plug from wreckers, but have been told only the whole loom is available etc etc. for more $$$ than I would want to spend

I would hunt around until a burnt out Td5 D1 or Defender is avail, therefore the loom may be damaged anyway and they won't mind cutting off the plug for you!

Mine did that not long after I bought it.
Got some wire and secured it to the rocker cover bolts, never caused any issues.

I did mine a couple of years ago bought the plug with about a metre of wire that they cut from a wreck soldered the wires staggering the joins so dont end up with a big bulge also used heat shrink with the glue inside this keeps the moisture out
