I got my second set for free after I killed 4 of them bewteen 3K and 5K Km on a trip...
took the carcases back to the tyre shop and asked why the fitted a tyre with "tube Required" stamped on the sidewall without a tube...
I was told it was an oversight.. when I showed him 4 dead tyres none of them with tubes in the manager was called in.
the shop in question was very good about it and while they didnt cough up for the temp rubber I had had to buy on the road they did give me 6 newies instead of the original 4 that I paid for (and tubes for them) and 10 dockets for free rotations balances and wheel alignments and brake checks...
can you still buy them new?
yep
they still come on some new isuzu trucks i was told by beaurepairs..
your looking for the 12 character 3 quad group code stamp
heres a brand new one

The code TOWY 2CJ4 1608 brakes up into 3 parts
TOWY
appears to be stamped on all the ones Ive seen recently so Im assuming is a factory stamp...
2CJ4
appears to be the batch code
1608
is the date code and is the bit you are interested in...the code breaks into 2 parts 2 digets for the week of manufacture and 2 for the year group. in this case the 16th week of 08
earlier versions with out the ribs running at varying radii of the tyre dont have the full 12 characters but just the date stamp.
What pressures are you thinking of to be over inflated? They have a stated maximum inflation of 85psi.
In general, I find them to be a good all-round tyre. Sure, there are special tyres for rock, mud and bitumen, but I find they take me up any track that I am game enough to try.
Aaron.
over inflated depends on load but I have never needed to go over 48 psi with them
