Fried Mallory electronics!!!! Help!
Aaargh. Yesterday morning I couldn't get a spark out of the Mallory Unilite distributor I fitted a couple of years ago. All electrical connections, coil etc diagnosed OK.
Called the RAC who confirmed the electrics were indeed fine and suggested the coil pickup in the dizzie might be at fault.
So I put the old Lucas points dizzie back in and am back on the road.
Inside the Mallory there is a red box with LED and a faint acrid smell (you know, the one emitted by burnt electronics). The 3 wires to the dizzie go into it and it's labelled C.A.R.B. E.O. D-70-9.
Any suggestions?? Is this likely to the only problem, and can it be replaced in isolation? It would come out fairly easily.
Has anyone got an old Unilite from which I could scavenge electronics pretty please??
Any help appreciated!
Thanks
Chris

Just get onto Rocket Industries for a new one on Monday and keep a spare. They're kinda prone to frying them. I've had a few fail on my cars aa well as customers cars.

C.A.R.B. is California Air Resources Board which is the governing body for emissions. The following numbers are the approval certificate number.
As up2nogood said, go to Rocket Industries and they will sort you out.

Thanks guys - yup, Rocket sent the parts in the week. Hope to put it all back together on Sunday.
The module was a bit too costly for me to get a spare one though. $164 ex GST plus freight. Ouch.
