Nulon is good
Have had to replace a couple of hoses in the cooling department of my D2 TD5. The parts came from the nearest dealer (small country town) but they did not have any of the "orange" coolant for sale. They were very quick to say not to use the green stuff or there would be chemical warfare in the radiator between the two so I have just added 5 litres of de-ionised water to get mobile. I have always been careful with using correct coolant as I have seen too many corroded water parts in cars with owners that don't care.
Can you get the orange stuff from other suppliers? Can you flush out the orange and replace with the green which you can buy anywhere? Any consequences to changing over? Would appreciate help with this one

Do you have a caltex nearby?
Caltex Extended Life Coolant, is the correct coolant.
OAT type coolant - Orange - as said above DONT use green.
Super Cheap sell it pre diluted (50/50)
I understand that Caterpillar Agents also stock the same stuff in the concentrated form.
........but again as said above if you have a Caltex Depot near you they should have it, or if they dont they can order it in for you.
if youve used (or still have )the original factory coolant in the engine there is scope on the coolant for some dilution with water... youve done the right thing so far by using the distilled water.
from memory the factory tolerance for dilution is the addition of 2l of water to what you have in the system (Ie if you loose 2l of coolant you can replace it with 2l of water) but your right on the limits when you do that.....
The Caterpiller stuff we use in the IMV's is a little more tolerant to the dilution thing but not excessively.
I carry the 5l nulon bottle with the mix in it set up for a further 50/50 dilution with water. When added to existing correctly mixed coolant a couple of liters will put the reccomended mix in the system at the maximum concentration. you just have to keep a track of what you added when.. Supercheap now carries the nulon range, a bit pricier than where I normally buy it but better than not having it.

What about for a 3.9L V8??? In the past I have always had green coolant. Does this coolant debate apply only to TD5s? Or is there something I need to learn about my little rover V8?
