clearing fault codes and dash lights

Hi I bought a cheap obd2 scanner at jaycar before i left for my trip for cape york. i am still up there but have a question. after going through a few creeks and rivers the three amegos light up. i then pluged in the scanner and delete the code. but the lights are still lit up, I seem to have full abs TC/HDC functions so what gives?. It seems the scanner can delete the fault but not the lights. any one got any idea. Also I came across a bloke with a TD5
(mine is a V8) with the same problem when I connected my scanner it came up with "link error" I have herd that the TD5 has a diferent interface or something ?? is this correct.

The fault code i had was P1590. I cant seem to cross reference this with the book that came with the scanner so what does it mean. I assume it had somthing to do with the the 3 amegos cause it is not there now in the system.

    cheers

    will.

Can't help with the fault code but the scanner unit you mention will only work on the V8 and not the Td5 ECM. Also it may not interface to the SLABS unit to clear faults on that ECU which is where the TC/HDC/ABS is all triggered.

Check the wheel sensors are clean and OK the fact the lights are on indicates the fault has been logged, I don't believe its one that will self-reset though.

Apparently thats an ABS fault, but could mean a number of things. Have a look at:

OBDII code 1590 - Land Rover Repair Forums - LRRForums.com

They recommend troubleshooting with the aid of the info in the Rave CD, or plugging it into a Rovacom.....
