The "raked steel member" is one piece with the sill forward to the firewall, the 'B' pillar and the bottom half of the rear door back post. I don't see how you can tell whether this was removed before or after the tub was removed, unless you removed it yourself. Of course, it may have rusted into several separate parts.

I unbolted the roof from the top of the windscreen and the sill beams from the base of the firewall. From here, the whole body excluding firewall,windscreen, front doors etc lifted off with a block and tackle after also undoing the rear crossmember bolts and a couple of brackets to the chassis.
I managed to do it myself in one evening.......
You could remove the rear tub only but it would involve removing the entire roof, rear side panel sections and B pillars/sills.
An an air ratchet would be nice to have- lots of 10mm nuts..
