110 station wagon tub removal

whats the easiest, least damaging way to remove the tub from a 110 wagon ?

If its anything like a series 3, cut the wires to the lights etc. Undo all bolts and then call the troops round to lift it off. Stick it up on a couple of saw horses or hang it off a roof. I dont have any specific plans this weekend if that helps.
Hmm station wagon complicates things, Mark2 has swapped a county wagon tub for a style side ute tub. Might be worth a PM to check what complications sprung up.

With the roof and all removed, i would think a couple of guys would be able to lift it by hand, it's all aluminium isn't it?

the wagon tub setup ia wayyyyy more complicated unfortunately

i am sure there must be an "easy way" and i dont want to make more work for my self than i need to.

had a look sunday arfo and it aint as easy as i thought it might be.

large amounts of steel in and under a wagon tub, extra outriggers as well.

you got one older than 10 you need to be looking and oiling etc

I think you need to remove the 'B' pillar and sill members (one piece each side). This of course means removing the front and rear floors and the sill panels. Once these are out, the tub is held by about half a dozen bolts at the front (which you should be able to see by then) and the obvious ones at the back.

In addition, you have to disconnect the fuel filler and the wiring. And this assumes you have removed the upper body and rear door, which I think you have done.

Unfortunately, I don't think there really is an easy way!

Now I'm not sure that this is going to be useful to you but for the record:

CJ and I lifted his County body off the chassis (excluding doors, front guards and bonnet and floor pans but including firewall).

The attachments to the chassis were pretty easy to identify once the interior was stripped out and were pretty much as John explained.

CJ has an overhead "I" beam running the length of his shed and he rigged up some smaller cross beams the same width as the body so that we could attach ratchet straps and gradually lift the body clear without putting too much strain on the body. The straps were attached at each side of the fire wall, the b and c pillars and to the rear.

Of course this was a long term project and was worth the time and effort of building the infrastructure to do it.

its the front passenger side corner of a removed station wagon rear tub..

i am wondering if it was removed without removing the door supports

Looks like the rear passenger side.

If it is then what is missing is the raked steel member that joins to the c pillar.

CJ had to weld some patches due to rust in the steel at the base of that member where the sill that spans b and c meets c. He did that in situ so I don't think that we tried to remove it as the rear tub remained attached to the rest of the body...sorry I've exhausted my knowledge there.
