    Diff locker compressor ????

    I have an after market diff lock fitted to the beast ( Unsure of brand,fitted when purchased) Anyway pressure switch fitted which starts compressor automaticaly after car has been sitting over night and occasionaly whilst driving. Obviously a small air leak some where. Have tested diff lock and works fine. Not a real problem but will it effect locker performance if I
    isolate the compressor so it only runs on demand . Ie turn it on when out scrub. To clarify There is a switch on the dash which is used to engage locker by way of solenoid. so its only the compressor that runs for short periods.

    Yep mate, no need to have the compressor turned on all the time. Wire up a switch to the dash to turn the compressor on when you want to use the diff lock.

    I will concur with the above.

    I run the ARB diff lockers, and I have a switch on the dash. I only turn it on when I want to engage the lockers or pump up my tyres (as it enables the air line to be connected to it). Only difference is that instead of the air pressure being there straight away, it takes a second or two for the pressure to come up.

    arb locker

    Yes mate I think they all leak down over a short time but agree with the others and that is the way mine is wired up compressor turns on when it has too. e.g. maintain the 100 psi I think.
