County shocks -too short!!???
Well finally after two years in the shed, countless hours tinkering/modifying/improving? I drove the county down to get a RWC.(Needed to get new wiper blades, aim the washer jets and two indicator lenses. Easiest car I've ever roadworthied.)
Registered at Vic Roads on thursday and then down to the local bumpy road-what the kids call it- to test drive and give it a bash. (the extension of Old Cape Schanck rd, Rosebud -for anyone interested in a good fun mud and sand bash)
Only locked in the centre diff for a couple of mud pits-there were a couple that I wouldn't attempt unless there was at least one or two other 4wd's to get me out.
My problem is that after a big bump the front wheels seem to get held up by the length of the shockers and there is a definate clunk. ie they can't drop low enough.
I have put new bushes in all round and new heavy duty kings springs (it will be a tourer with weight in it and or my tools for work).
The shocks I put in - new konis were the same length as the ones i pulled out (originals)
What length shocks should I be aiming for?
What are my options?
thanks
Also
I'd forgotten how good the sound of a carb fed V8 roaring thru mud sounds-even the missus commented on the sound of it.
