    More Power - ECU Chip

    G'day Everyone,

    I have a 2005 Defender 110 TD5, I would like to gain a little more power for when I am towing. I have currently looked at chiping but am at this present time getting a little confused. I would appreciate thoughts by members on where to go with this, also could you tell me the following;

    Q1 What brand of chip/ upgrade do you have?
    Q2 What problems have you experienced with your upgrade if any,

    Thanks in advance.

    Jake,
    On an 05 TD5 you wont want a chip - its purely a re-flash / remap that you'll need. You shouldnt get any problems, only benefits, mainly much more torque and get up and go.

    The only time you'll see any problems is if the car is not right to start with! We do loads here in the UK and we never see problems, unless people come with a half dead car - in that case we wont touch it until they fix the underlying problems (usually air flow meter / MAFF sensor etc)

    A quick look at the ecu error log will alert you / the remapper to any problems.
