Discos do not overheat in any conditions - so if yours gets hot at any time there is some sort of issue in the cooling system. Was the radiator work done properly?

Just thinking about a better eng oil cooler. i have had the engine rebult, flushed rad, i replaced my cluch fan with a BA falcon xr8 thermo fan and shroud, must be about 19in, keeps it cool all the time , well almost , beach driving and summer/40c tempratures with the airconditioner on, is when she will overheat.
has anyone fit or made changes to oil coolers?
also if trans oil runs hot, will it heat up the coolant?
dos anyone ells have issues with discos overheating in summer?

That is a very broad statement, surly it would depend upon the work the vehicle was doing. Towing heavy loads and steep mountains would be enough to test most vehicles cooling system, particularly auto transmissions.
TD5 Discos have a reputation for being undercooled in the intercooler department and that is a common upgrade for Disco owners towing camper caravans etc.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Guess you are right however, a Disco with a fully functional cooling system should not have any issues in just about all circumstances - I have towed cars on very hot days up steep hills - no problems - likewise in sand dunes on 40+ days in low range with the only air going though the radiator being that sucked in via the fans.
If they overheat - there is usually a problem somewhere.
But better oil coolers for gearbox and engine obviously will increase the margin for error.

thanks for the comments, it would be right that ther maybe somthing wrong, so maybe before summer ill strip her down and go over everything again, dont like not being able to use the aircon on 40+ days, and ill need to do that before i head up north for a trip next year.
so no one has ever fitted a better oil cooler ??
jezz, drop me a PM as Im coimg over your way at xmas...
If yovue done everything right and are driving appropriately there is no way a well looked after landrover anything overheats on sand regardless of how much aircon and toymota you are pulling out.
get the tyre pressure wrong, crank the aircon and lug too tall a gear with a tail wind and if your radiators even just a little off you'll toast a donk but that scenario consists of 2 avoidable errors and a little lack of maintenance Remove any 1 and it should be right again..
IF youve got the auto and are pushing it hard on the TC that will do more harm as well.

Diana,
Not sure about your comment either. The intercooler has basically no bearing on engine cooling. The intercooler is also the same on all TD5 engined Land Rovers, as is the Radiator. All the intercooler does really is drop the intake charge temp.
Larger intercoolers are fitted to gain more power, but the stage 1 chip modifications on td5's give a substantial power increase with the standard intercooler.
I would say the TD5 cooling system is particually good. far better than the earlier setups.
Cheers
Pete
