Tyres - economy mud pattern wanted

It has probably been done to death but..............

I am looking at aggressive tread in 7.5016 or 235/85/R16 but don't want to spend a fortune because it is for my budger RR bush basher.

Any suggestions for the tight fisted 4wder?

I have Cooper ATR 225/75/R16 on her at the mo, less than 500kms travelled, still with nipples on side walls. Any offers?

Sime konvoy in a 750x16 are tough and agressive, and cheap if you can get them. not sure if they are made any more though, otherwise the GT radial x grip is similar.

if they are only for play then bandag do some good rubber but I wouldnt trust them for heavy loads at speed.

the tyre shop I normally goto (Jax tyres in ipswich) is giving me nexxans at 220ish a pop.

Try your local big Toyota dealer. They might be able to help if they sell LC utes that have the split rims & 7.50R16 Dunlops removed prior to sale.

My local Toyota dealer supplies the mine companies. The mines have the split rims removed for something else & the tyre shop nearby sells the rims & tyres for around $120 each.

Or you can do what I do - keep an eye on the various forum classifieds for used tyres. I bought a set (4) of good 7.50R16 Dunlops on rims for $100.
I then sold the rims/tubes for $66 on ebay.
