    fuel relay location

Can anyone tell me where the fuel injector pump relay is for a 95 300 tdi defender. I cant find it anywhere and have been googling for hours.
Hoping to get it going tonight ready for work tomorrow.
At the moment i have supplied temporary power to the solenoid but i have to open bonnet to turn the defender off (slightly annoying).

I went thru alot of water yesterday offroad and some very bumpy tracks so it may have something to do with that hopefully.

    thanks in advance!

The pump is mechanically driven - why would it need a relay

Well the diesel injector pump i mean, it has a cut off solenoid and a wire that goes somewhere for power--at the moment i have bypassed this wire and got power from elsewhere, but not thru the ignition system so i have to get out to disconnect it.

could it be the digital diesel shut off valve ???

Im not sure, it doesn't have an ECU (digital?) . All i know is that this solenoid is on the injector pump and unless it has power and is activated there is no fuel delivery.

Thanks Ladas, helped me understand the pump a bit more except the solenoid actually works OK, as i have hot wired power to it. This is why i am thinking its a relay as the original wire has no power when ignition is on, but has worked intermittently though.

The sol valve in the pump is controlled via the imobiliser/alarm system !!!!

see attached, there seems to be two examples - but both seem to be similar

it has an aftermarket immobiliser thats all i think. The annoying ones with the little dongle you have to take your key out to use.
