    Weird things happening

    G'day all
    Any ideas?
I put the 130 in to get the leak in the TCase fixed (2002 td5)
The truck came back with the following probs.

Won't turn off until you take your foot off the brake pedal. If you put it in neatral and turn it off it keeps runnunig.

The rear fog light no longer works but he light on the switch does not go out.

The rear indicators are on as tail light and the tail lights only come on when you put th eindicator on.

Twic the truck has lost power and sounds like it is running on three cylinders (turning the truck off and back on has rectified this).

niether the speedo or odometer work (possibly understandable given their location)

They assure me they only disconnected three wires to do the job and only removed the earth from the battery.

What the hell have they done.

The transferr case dosn't leak at the moment.

Sounds like an earthing problem. The main battery earth wire connects from the battery to the chassis and to the upper rear of the transfer case. The connection on the transfer case may be loose, poor connection or not connected at all. Somewhere to start looking. Good luck, Erich.

Hmmm...had experience with said co. during my time up there. Not uncommon for them to shrug and hope it all goes away, no matter what the vehicle.

earthing sounds a good start point.

    good luck.

Having not had issue with this dealership for nearly a decade I think it can get sorted.

Does sound like an earthing problem. Give me a call, I should be free on the weekend.

If you have the battery under the seat someone forgot to put back the joining strap that goes to the transmission and the body.

And to think they had the Land Rover dealership as well until about 2 years ago. We too have had problems with them - they forgot to refill a gearbox with oil after removing it for a dual mass flywheel recall a few years back.

    Check your oil levels!!!!

Good luck on the weekend Cheers, Erich.
