Update,
The place that quoted me $495 ea for the Michelin XPC's is Global Tyres ph 03 9495 1033.
I'm sure they're available elsewhere aswell.

Someone convinced me to get TOYO Open Country A/T for the P38.
I'm glad they did. These are excellent all round tyres. Very smooth on the freeway (= no noise), and a better than average off road tread pattern.
Highly recommend them, and very good value at about $240 each.

Check out your local second-hand tyre dealers. One of them wil be able to match the XPC and in a similar tread depth to your own. I used them to match a 255/65R16 tyre on my P38A after I shredded a tyre.
BTW, what is your spare like and is it on a steel rim? In other words, is it a Michelin XPC that can be swapped to the replace the damaged tyre and then you put the replacement on the spare?
It's a pity you're not in Sydney. I have quite a few 2nd hand XPCs ranging from near new to 1/2 worn or so.
I also have a virtually new set of Simex HT tyres for the P38 which I would like to see gone. 3 have less than 500km, the other about 5000km.
I have 1 factory michelin in new condition PM me if your interested
I don't know if this is going to help but;
Michelins from Thomastown Tyres were $570 each,
Suitable Coopers were $250 each (Forgot what style but Highway suited)
Nexen HT 255 65/16 from Northend Tyres Gladstone Park $175 each fitted.
I have bought the Nexen's but not fitted them yet as I have a few thousand k's left on the Michelins.
And I ONLY use my P38 on road towing our yacht.
85 Classic is for off road down 'n' dirty
Happy to post thoughts on the Nexens when they get fitted
Cheers
Jeff
