Will get under the bonnet over the next day or so to check the reading at the MAF ctr pin.

I did notice today during the first longish drive (only done a handfull of ks since ECU done), that there is a fluctuation in idle rpm, in "P" and "N". It rises by 20-40 rpm and then drops back to base line for two ot three seconds, and then up again etc etc

Also a slight miss/rough running at 1750 to 1850-1900 rpm comes and goes. Feels like my Rangie when a HT lead was on its way out.

    Both definately not there before.

The car pulls alot better than it used to from 2200ish rpm on up, but seems no better below this. Is this roughly were the boost cranks up?

Nanocom on back order , not till next month! Seems a long time to me. But no one else has them in Perth that I know of.

Going away this weekend to Hill River fishing... hope the thing doesnt stop on me!

Maybe I should have kept my SIII 88 or 109, Rangie or Tdi's Ive had. They never let me done, noisy, slow, harsh etc..... but I never got stuck!

    Thanks again....

I believe it originates from TRS.

When test book is run it throws up about 20 weird and repeating codes in blocks of four. No MIL /any dash lights on.

The fitter and I were not happy and sent my ECU to be chipped, as the other was an exchange.

The car drove better, but not that much better. Both to me and the landy mech.

My ECU came back chipped, with note from supplier "tested okay .Fault codes on late model ECU,s cant be cleared..."???

    Fitted ECU , same same....

    Has anyone seen this before?

And if so, how will it effect fault finding? and using a nanocom I intend to purchase...

Any ideas on the lack of extra performance? Should I start looking at turbo/sensors/etc. Recently done all fluids and filters inc auto.Penrite synthetic front to back/mobil 1, 5w50 in donk.
    Hi
We've not long resolved an issue that sounds exactly like this. I sent my ECU to be reflashed quite a while ago and when I got it back it logged errors very similar to what you are describing – with out even starting the engine….. Mine also ran like a dog, had extra power but very rough from idle to about 2000rpm.

Nanocom would say errors cleared but they were still there. (Guys at MR automotive said they could not clear them either) Reload factory map and all errors gone. Load the new one back on and all errors are instantly there. I now believe its caused by a "generic Map" as apposed to one specific for the ECU part number – that is why the Nancom Map Generator has you choose region and ECU part number to generate the factory restore map.

I now have one of Pete’s (B-A-S) maps (through tombie) absolutely brilliant! It’s even completely smoothed out the Cruise control – absolutely no variation in speed at all now, it used to drop by 3-4 and then rocket over a hill going over by 3-4km/h

Exactly what I had. OK not quite, I didn't call mine "slight"… I ended up going to the back to the factory map because the rough running was so annoying. Sometimes at idle, it sounded as it was going to stall maybe even running on 4 sometimes…

Don't give up - I nearly did (there was language!). If it was good before than I bet it is the wrong map - you just need someone who has the expertise and experience. When you get your Nanocom you can get all the readings and data Pete needs. Pity you're not close by or I could help out...

    Hi all...

Thanks for the input, this forum is a such great tool for "oddball" problems! Not the first time it has pointed the way for me....

As far as I know the codes were entered. But cant be sure till I can get a Nanocom.

I will give the supplier the opertunity to sort it out ,one more time. Then go back to original till I can get one sorted ,from Toombie I think!

I am off to the beach this weekend, is there any engine damage risk with the current "upgrade" ECU causing these issues?

Been "persisting" down here so havnt got under the bonnet to get sensor readings yet. Will try if it stops raining....

Anyone know of a Nanocom for sale in Perth?

Thanks again, will (hopefully) post a good outcome.

    Hi all...

Got the multi-meter out this morning, the MAF ctr pin reads 2.09v at idle.It is getting 13.9 v at pin 1.

The voltage rises as rpm is increased.

    Does this shed any light.....?

What are the expected readings B-A-S?

I passed on the info from posts above to the fitter, he will call the supplier and "get back to me"...great...this was sposed to be a drive in drive out thing!

    regards ...

2.09V = around 62Kg/Hr of air passing over the af which is perfect.

May be the missing power is down to the rest of the faults listed or possibily what we apready spoke about.

    Regards Pete
