    Brake supplier

    Guys,

Does anyone know of any good brake places out east of Melb where I can get good prices on dba rotors and ebc pads for my Disco?

Got some quotes the other day but think they are a bit high.

    slotted dba rotors - $140ea
    ebc greenstuff - $200 set of 4

Makes it an expensive exercise for doing the whole car.

He also said to use different pads as the ebc's are really dusty and aggresive on rotors, said QFM pads? were good, and only $88 set.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

Enquire about being suitable for your ABS system .... As the 3 Amigos can appear because a certain amount of resistance of electricity runs through the pads

    Hi,

I paid $300 for two front slotted discs (non-vented) which was 10% off retail, so $140 sounds OK.

Got M/C, pads (not EBC) and stainless braided lines from Paddocks at the same time. Stops like a normal car now. Not sure what made all the difference but it sure is good.

    cheers, DL

Luckily I dont have ABS mike.

Are you happy with your rotors and pads chris?

Any more info on those pads you got DL, and what did the brake lines from paddocks cost to get over here if you dont mind me asking.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Mintex pads, nothing special, they don't squeel. Work well though. Have noticed that if you keep same constant pressure on the pedal when stopping you can feel them gripping harder as the discs warm up.

5 hoses extended 2" were about $100 plus freight. Ring them and ask for freight cost. Someone in Melb is doing them for about $25 each, was posted on here this year.

    cheers, DL

The EBC pads in my experience are not particularly dusty.

This said, the supplier has said that you will get EBC Greenstuff pads. This is quite deceptive. The true Greenstuff pad is a 2000 series pad. They are excellent. EBC for the D2 now only supply the 6000 series 4X4 pad which they also paint green and market as a Greenstuff pad - it is not a greenstuff pad at all despite the marketing, and the performance is not nearly that of the 2000 series proper Greenstuff pad.

I'd clarify this for your D1 as I suspect that will also be the situation.
    Cheers
