    ARB BULLBAR MOD

    g,day all
i have a range rover 1990 with a standard non winch arb bullbar
i am wanting to put a winch into this bar spoke to some ****** at arb and he says the bar will not fit a winch and that i need to buy a winch bar
is there a way that i can cut and weld in a winch plate to mount a winch into this bar or has any one done this before
or maybe someone knows where i could get this modification done in the dandenong/cranbourne area
    all help appreciated
    thanks again
    shane

    G'day Shane
did exactly that to my 90 RR with ARB non-winch bar. Just got a 6mm steel plate the width of the bar between the uprights and welded a return at the top (see pic) fitted Warn 8000 Lb winch and roller fairlead. Has worker well for 6 years with no distortion of the bar. Probably a bit over overkill in terms of strength and weight. I can send measurements if you need
    Cheers
    Nick

thanks nick for the reply the measurement would be great at least i could get the steel plate organised without havin to pull the bar off yet
but with this option are you bolting the winch straight on to the front bar (with plate) verticly yeah !
    thanks mate

pulling the bar off is probably no big deal - just get a couple of strong young guys to take the weight ( support might be good too)

Nick, I think a few of us would like your plate dimensions if you could post them here, thanks, Laurie

i spotted this but is is for a jeep bar
this would be ok but i would rather some more support in the front section
looking at this you would boltt the winch horizontal as per a normal winch bar
but will look at anything though

i got the pic from here

The low mount winches mount with the bolts going through the bottom of the winch plate. Only the fairlead or hawse goes onto the front.
