Is there a difference from 2004 V8 to others

Hi all, have have been told in the past that there is a difference between the 2004 V8 motor and the V8's in the rest of the D2's.

Can anyone confirm there is a difference and what it is?

    Hi Mark,

Well, as mentioned in the other thread... AFAIK, there is no difference in the V8 fitted to the DiscoII. However, 2004 is when the Disco3 was launched and that V8 is a completely different engine (it's the 4.4 Jag unit).

Apart from a compression change just before 2004, there's nothing different that I know of.
The update in 2003 was mainly superficial apart from the re-introduction of CDL.

Unfortunately, the higher compression means that Premium Unleaded is the preferred fuel .

I am a beleiver that premium gives you better economy so I would be running a V8 on that anyhow.
