They really easy to fit yourself.
However, my biggest worry would be...do they really fit? I thought someone (maybe Slunnie) had looked into this before and decided the LRA flares would not suit a D2. I hope I am wrong.
G'day All
My long awaited (One & half weeks) Rims and tyres have arrived, a set of 34x11.5 x16 or in our scale 290x80x16 Simex JT2
I fitted them up yesterday the rear fit with an inch gap either side and stick out an inch over all, however the front scrub big time on turns
I looked far and wide yesterday for set of Flares and couldn’t find nothing for D2, I spoke to the gent at LRA and they advised, that they fit D1 flares on the D2 all the time (I suppose they know best) $820 later
However can anyone recommend someone to fit these things I dont mind how far I must travel from Blacktown NSW to get a good job and a good price

You are going to cut the guards if you do not want the tyres to rub when wheel travel range is being used up. If the flares you have are genuine Landrover D1 flares then they will not fit modded wheel arches. The front flares pop rivet to the inner wheel arch lip which will be removed if the guards are cut. The rear flares are glued on and if the rear doors are cut the radius of the rear wheel arch is larger so the genuine flares should not fit as they are molded to fit standard wheel arches.
However if there is no modding and they will fit a D2 - the genuine flares are easy to put on - I put them on both of my D1s and had no problems - just follow the instructions. The kit has everything in it - rivets and glue - everything.

Im sure the lads at LRA are not going to con me into a set of flares (I hope not)
the problem is who can spray them up and fit them
Rick at BBM had his done but when the rear guard was cuton rangie, it looked ugly when the door was open
I have figure out how to shorten the trim around the rear aprin and side aprins of the disco
Arn't you talking about fitting genuine land rover flares - afterall you said you were talking to a gent from LRA and as far as I know Landrover do not sell aftermarket gear so I was making an assumption you are talking about D1 flares fitted as an option to D1s.

Because you have to cut into the inner guard it always looks a bit crappy but you can just run a bit of pinchweld over it and it cleans up the look a bit when the door is open.
They are not all that hard to fit I believe, but you just have to measure and mark up and check and double check before you cut anything.
I have seen a set on a D2 and I thought they looked ok, I didnt notice that they didnt look right anyway.
There is flares you can get from the UK as well that someone posted up here a while ago but I cant remember where it was they were from.
If I was worried about it I would just do the drive down here and get LRA (Les Richmond Automotive) to fit them as they are the pro's at doing this stuff.
But then again, you could always ask them if they would recomend anyone nearer to you.
