    Radio Code LOCKED- Any fixes?

    Gang,

My 03 Discovery CD/radio has had it's code entered the maximum 10 times and is now locked = stuffed.

Anyone know if there is a fix to unlock it?

It is looking like a trip down to Strathfield for a new fully sick system with big woofers mate. I would rather keep going with the original one.

Try a dealer, using the VIN code they should be able to look it up.
That's what I tried with mine, except they couldn't identify the vehicle from the VIN, they kept telling me that the VIN didn't exist, turned out as my 130 was more than 10 years old it was know longer on the system

The dealer and RangeRov have both told me that you can only enter the code 10 times then you have to throw the perfectly good radio away.

    I am really impressed.

Google you make & model of radio with "code lock" ... has to be a "master code" available from the manufacturer

It doesn't let you enter anything. I think the idea is that you cannot steal it, Google a code to enter in it and away you go with your easy listening.

Except the idiots at Land Rover fit a radio that nobody would want to steal in a car fitted with an alarm with motion sensors. Goes with the locking wheel nuts so good that the adapter key breaks while you are in the Simpson fixing a flat.

At least I can now fit something with iPod connection, etc but lose the steering wheel controls.

But I am still happy to hear from anyone, who may have fractured a few laws in their day, that can fix my radio.

The lock should reset after an hour or so - leave it connected to power & you might need to have the key in the accessories position.

Do you have the correct code?
Is it a Eurovox or Visteon unit?
