Hi guys

many thanks for all the valuable info - lots to follow up!!

PhilipA - Just driving along - engine coughed, then just died - just a few minutes after being at rest all day - a few stutters before the battery died.
NRMA called to 1. check for loose wires etc, then to 2. organise a 'lift' home.
Obviously something has failed - either a loose wire or a malfunctioning circuit board - checked all wires, now to keep replacing boards!!

One of the few mechanical parts of an EFI system is the TPS ( throttle Position Sensor). they are like the volume control on an old radio, and as they wear they can get gaps in the resistor. The computer then doesn't know what the heck to do.
If it just cut out , that may be your problem.
