Thread: Anyone fitted those cheap HID Conversions to their LR?

Mine has been in for over a year. About $180, 5000k, 35 watt, sliding H4 hi-lo. Came with quality loom including relay and fuses. Mine were supposed to be pure white, but have a very slight bluish tinge which I have gotten used to. Don't go higher than 4300k.

Have them adjusted slightly down from standard. No-one has flashed their lights at me ever. Light output on low beam is much increased, especially on the side of the road. Hi beam is a bit disappointing in comparison, but still way better than previously. I would never go back. Makes night driving in the sticks much safer.

I'm running a set of 55w 4300k H3's in my Lightforce XGT driving lights. Light output is brilliant! The only down side is they take a few seconds to warm up if the haven't been on for a while, but it's no big deal really.

As for headlight bulbs, I also have a set of sliding Hi-Lo 35w 4300k H4's to go in my headlights. I just haven't got around to installing them yet

I've had a set of 35w 4300K in my RR for a year or so now. Very impressed.
I've a set for my spotties too, 4300K again.

I recently bought a set of 50/55w 6000K but found them too blue for my liking.
I now have a set of H4 50/55w 4300K for the P38 too (once I sort out a diode for the wiring).

Yep i bought 2 sets 4300k 35w h4,s one for my fender and another set for the wifes Jimny
And yes very impressed except on high beam ,but i have 240 lightforce blitz to fix that up
I was going to convert the lightforce to hid , but after seeing a few and how long they take to warm up to full brightness ill stick with the halogen globes as they work good enough for me

My standard LF240's lit up the road for about 500m & guide posts 1.5km away , the new HID bulbs light up the road for a kay now and road markers for almost 3kms It's funny, people keep asking if I'm afraid of the dark

I have a set of 35w 5000k H4 hi/low's in Cibie lenses supplied by Jeremy at opposite lock in midland. The light output and beam spread is awesome.

I had hella lense before and the output was better than a halgoen but the cibies take it too a new level.

I also converted me Rallye 4000's too 5000k HID's. They are amazing. I only paid $70 for the step on ebay so they are a little bluer than i would have liked but the light they chuck out is amazing.

I recently fitte 4300k globes to my dads rangie with Cibies and would definatly recommend the 4300's over the 5000's.

I presume you don't need to upgrade wiring given that they're lower voltage than standard - so you can just plug in new globes?

Where's the best place to get these?

HID kits for headlights are 35w, so no need for upgraded wiring. Most are designed for you to simply: unplug and remove your existing bulbs, install the new bulbs, attach the ballasts in the space behind the lights, and then plug the original wiring into the ballasts. Very simple

ebay is your friend. Just search for "dual hid", "bixenon", or something similar and away you go. Make sure you specify H4 bulbs and 4300k temperature when you order. Should put you back about $120-150 delivered
