Ah, I think it's time for playlunch.

Well read all this now and have a few quick questions...
- Who started this thread?
- What was the issue again?
- Have you managed to sort it out from suggestions here?
- Is the ongoing diatribe embedded in this thread ****ting you off yet?
- Thought about installing a detroit so we can put the maxi/arb debate to rest?
- Anyone able to read between the lines and see what i'm suggesting here with this post?
Thanks Outlaw.... this is getting crazy.....

That was an entertaining bit of reading,
So heres my 2c,
Although I don't own one but have studied the way they engage and disengage, and having familiarity with the ARB product, that Maxi is by design going to take longer to engage and disengage due also to loaded up axle twist torque in the splined region of the long axle versions. Possibly also applies in the RR short axle, but only I guess with BIG tyres. This would make the locking collar harder to travel along the spline. Also, there is a whole lot more movement required in the Maxi system. This has to by design create more friction and loads to overcome=time.
I also believe that Maxidrive has the best indicator design. Light not on? Difflock NOT IN.
But, I have a Detroit in my Sals,(Sorry for swearing Slunnie:p) so I am only putting in my observations here.
