Then you drove home with it secured to the hub with cable ties.

Are you actually recommending people do this
Well let in sink in a bit more. No tail shaft no axles so nothing is turning except for the wheels YES. The axle sits in the axle housing happily with a piece of plastic or rag cable tied to the wheel to assist in not too much oil being lost. The axle is stationary.

What is it with people like you who ask for assistance and when given you pick it to pieces and throw it back at them.

We actually do a lot of extreme driving and from time to time break the occasional part. So we have had to invent these temp repairs to get home. If you want to break it and not listen to others experiances, cool

The thoughts are either right or wrong. If you think the person stating them makes them right or wrong, it might explain a few things you have posted.

Sometimes the person telling me something adds some weight to that point of view, but I always do my research and make up my own mind. In the end it is always my fault if something I do does not work out. I do not attempt to blame the source(s) of the information I may have acted on. They deserve what they end up with if anyone on this forum takes yours or my view without checking it out further.
