Hi kieren,
120K??? sounds like a nice condition '93
At this interval,(40,000km intervals) I would also be changing the transmission and drivetrain oils. gearbox,Caltex(LR spec) MTF94, 75w85 gear oil, or Dexron3 auto trans fluid is recommended. (I'd use the MTF94/75w85 up there in Roma) 80w90 gear oil in the transfer case, swivel housings and diffs.
Flushing cooling system; Remove the drain plug from the block, and drain it all out. Refit the plug and remove 1 of the heater hoses at the rear of the engine and flush through clean water until all traces of coolant have gone. Refit all hoses and fill with 33% concentration of coolant/ inhibitor. Bleed the system by removing the small hose at the drivers side top of the radiator while filling the expansion bottle until fluid comes out.
Fuel filter; Just undo it and fit the new one. System will self bleed. There is also a sediment bowl located Drivers side inside of the chassis rail bolted to the inside end of the top shock mount bracket. The through-bolt located from the top in the centre Undoes with a 7/16" spanner. Remove the bowl as a whole and inspect/ clean it thoroughly.
Tappet adjustment; should be carried out every service, we don't leave them for more than 20,000km as they seem to hammer the valve stems too much...
And when did the timing belt last get changed?
these 200Tdis can go to 100,000km on a belt, but longer than 5 or 6 years sees the rubber start to perish...
Haynes do a reasonable 200Tdi manual, try Ebay for a genuine one also.
