what phil said, the calipers are definitely different. Pretty sure the only common thing is the wheel bearings and seals in the hub.

Ventilated discs are not all they are made out to be when fitted to a 4wd.

They are a recipe to instant hotpots and pulsation when you drown them after a long decent into a water crossing and the wheels being the size they are dissipate the heat better than the rollerscate wheels on 2wd cars.

Im sure that there are times where they would be benificial and thats probably why they were fitted to D2 and some late D1's but Ive had no brake fade ever with mine so I dont really think they are all that nessesary.

Oh and to answer the question......no they are different, rears are a fair bit smaller in diameter than the fronts.

    Yeah1 tell me about it.
Put new Delphi discs on my 92 RRC in January .
Since then have done about 20 K including some deep crossings.
    Now have noticeable pedal pulse.
Cooper says Delphi will not warrant.

I had the boss's Rodeo front discs ground on the vehicle a few weeks back, first time I have done this as we had a disc grinder at the last place I used to work on cars.

The thing that struck me was that he rolled up and looked at me quite strangely and then looked at the Rodeo and said......I dont take the wheels off and I will need the calipers off as well....

I looked at him and said.....what is it Im paying you $50 call out and $30 per side for then?

I ended up doing it when he got his tool kit which comprised a worn out 6" shifter, a small ball peen hammer and a bent 1/2" spanner wrapped up in a rag.

These were the tools he used to mount the machine and set it up and while it was going he walked around my workshop smokeing and talking on his mobile to his mates.

I think I will look around for someone else if I need it done again but the system worked very well.

Funny thing is that when it had gone in for a service at Holden (as it's still under warrenty) they said they couldnt fault the brakes which nearly shook the steering wheel out of your hands at slow to medium speed stops at the lights.

    Hi,

I have DBA SOLID slotted front rotors, braided lines and Mintex pads. Came back from the Grampians today and can quite honestly say that on two long bitumen downhills I had no probs with fade (auto box and being lazy). I think its the pads, as they seem to grip harder as the discs heat up.

Even when hot, its no prob to lock up all four (gigantic) 31x10.5's on the bitumen in the dry.

    cheers, DL
