    Viscous fan spanner. TD5

Does anyone know if these can be bought from Autobarn and the like? They are bound to be the same as soemthing else.

Going to pop over in an hour or so and was just wondering if it may save me the trip.

Well I went over and only Repco had one and it was a falcon one which is 32mm which isnt big enough for the TD5. Anyway I bought it and am going to modify it with the angle ginder!

Guy in supercheap just looked confused, and lady at autobarn knew exactly what I needed but had none in stock.

now you will need a thing to hold the pulley from turning, like a screwdriver and a big hammer to beat the spanner with - and don't forget, undoing is in the direction the fan normally goes -left hand thread.
maybe i shoulda butchered my spanner when i couldn't get mine off - nah, it was easier to get rick to do it while it was in for other stuff.

Thanks Harry, If you hit them hard enough you dont need to hold them. Always worked before anyway!

I was told to buy the Ford one and modify it to suit, as it's cheaper than the LR tool, a bit off each side isn't too much i guess being there isn't much force needed too remove the viscous fan.

I've sold mine or you could have got them. You can order them from the UK (maybe not at the current exchange rate) or in Australia from a few outlets including TroutbeckSales.com

    Hi Pete,

(Here's todays excuse for not getting you the parts list)

Today was the last day for my office manager and her husband (Who was my apprentice, and great friends also) we also had an appointment with the accountant etc so I'll be able to give you that list tomorrow. Sorry, things aren't usually this chaotic, believe me!

On another note, and I'm sure you have thought about this already, but I would strongly suggest that you take this opportunity to replace all the cooling system hoses and thermostat.

    Hi Justin,

No worries. I have the head off now...

    Cheers
