    Should I buy it?

    Found a 110 Isuzu.

Price is good, low Km's for an Isuzu.

Motor good, 5 speed, rebuilt a couple of years ago, rebuilt steering box, drives nice, feels pretty tight.

    Bit of rust -
    - the sills on the front doors,
    - the triangular bit at the bottom of the driver's side passenger door,
    - plus a bit on the bulkhead in that space under the vents
    - that bit below the windows in the back that wasn't galvanised for a while is rusted on both side.

Light crumple on rear left side, not as bad as Inc's, but similar.

Most of the rest is good, except for things like the rear springs being rusty.

No heater, aircon box is broken between fan and condenser, guy's never tried to fix it, no belt, compressor turns freely.

I'm a goose when it comes to rusty things, so I need someone to say, yeah that stuff is easy to fix.

And aircon is a necessity for Rilka to be happy with it.

    Cheers

mine is near on rust free apart from the rear crossmember wings which is why i bought it but a few of the ones i looked at trying to get bits to fix mine i found that much of the steel work that does actually rust is tucked away where you dont see it .

really need to see decent pics of where the existing rust is to help much on whether it is easily fixable.

depends on a number of factors but I guess the main ones are price and your capability/willingness to fix the problems yourself - sounds like most are cosmetic? how is the rear cross member? doors can be a bit of fun to fix/ replace too....

I have a cab/ch. s111, '76, original 2.25 diesel that whilst the timber tray has pretty well rotted out has not a skerrick of rust anywhere. And it spends all its life out in the open too. But always lived west of the Great Divide.
For my way of thinking, any L/R with rust means only one thing - exposure to the beach/sand/salt.
Have seen ones in Coffs Harbour that not only had plenty of salt exposure but carted chook poop for the banana plantations.
A bloke stepping on the right spot could break one in half.
I would step around, unless the price for the engine/trans. etc. justified the purchase for a transplant.

I don't like the sound of the rust in the bulkhead in particular - what you can see is probably the least of it, and while repairs are quite possible, just getting at it is a big job; and when you get it apart I suspect you will find a lot more repairs to do.

I take it that it has the push button door type? While rust repairs on the doors are possible, replacement doors may be a better answer, but likely to be expensive.

I'm afraid that the rust would make me give it a miss.

    Bought

Fella was also selling a turbo kit from KLR, couldn't resist.

Now I've just got to sort some air con to keep Rilka happy.

Oh, and clean it, never thought I'd say that. It's a little grotty.
