Hyundai make a Copy 4D46T Around $2800 ish with injectors. To fit a mitsu will need waterpump and holes drilled and taped for rocker cover. I would not stuff around with a high kay 4D56 engine as head goes porous and pressurises coolant and over heat.

    OK full story.
Mate found a cheap paj. I talked with the guy as his ad said it needed a new head. Turned out that it was a fully running engine with a sticky valve. Called the wife and told her and she said no way.
Father in law came over today as he didn't beleive the bolt was stuck. Between us we removed what was left of the timing cover and re set the belts. After that we managed to get the bolt to start to go back in. Then when testing if it would undo it just snaped.
I was holding an old spanner in the flywheel while F.I.L. was using the breaker bar on the bolt.
He is now getting prices to have the remains removed before accepting that I need either a new crank or just replace the enjine.
    So far its
$880 for a rebuild kit with everything including pistons but no crank.
$2450 for a jap import motor.
$4500 ish for a new koren built 4D46T.

And Ace yes mechanical stuff just loves me.
Freind was tell the wife that some people are just meant to ride the bus.
RSPCA has already pre declined me from owning a horse.

Thanks to Dobbo for taking my mechanical demon for a week!

Bolt in the Paj has been removed today and the thread redone. Turns out it was rust due to moisture trapped when the timing belt was last done. Such a common issue that the guy knows the threads for the paj of by heart.
While he was here I removed the exhaust manifold from the Defender and had him check all the studs and re do two of them. Now to get an exhaust gasket and put the thing back together. I'm also going to do some mor mods on the manifold as last time I didn't mod it enough.

Might have all the vehicles sorted soon so look out for that blue moon!
