    How do i remove reverse light switch R380

    Hi.. i have just bought a 94 Discovery and the reverse light switch on the gearbox is faulty.. I can't get a spanner on it to remove it, is there a special tool? .. it is an R380 5 speed manual box, the switch is on the lefthand side right at the top of the gearbox..

    In situ, you can undo it but is very difficult.Use a smaller shifting spanner ( I've done it). A better idea would be to take just the gearbox mount off. Use your hydraulic jack to give you a bit of lift, and you should be able to undo the 4 bolts into the gearbox and nut on the rubber mount. With the mount off you can then get at the reverse switch.

    Hi Langy.. thanks for that.. removing the mount was my next move, but i thought i had better check to see if there was an easier way.
