Guys, i searched and found no info on this topic...
What i want to know is
What is the Std height of a Range rover Classic from the Center of wheel to the top of the guard if the bonnet is opened and what is the measurment on the rear from the center of the hub to the body pressing line that runs thru all the doors and rear quarters.
If you have an exact Bumpstop measument then that would be good also.
Also, Love to know who has what suspension and what are your measurements
What i have measured on mine 87 injected
Std, but sagged the front was 520mm and rear 550mm
Now it is 640mm front and 690mm rear
I'm using Range spares XHD in the rear, they claim to be a 4" TD5 front spring and my fronts are Range rover NRC4304 (Red/White) 170lb/inch
I had range spares purples in the front and the height rocked, but way to stiff as they are 220lb/inch
I'm fitting 2" scorpion drop mounts and i'll mod the front shock towers to match.
Love to hear what you have and what is std, so i can work out what lift i have over std.
Clarkie
Measureing my lift today i have 5.25" under the front and 6.75" under the rear.....
Me is thinking thats gunna give problems.
What I would like to know is how anyone measures the distance between bump stop and axle.
It varies back to front on the front, and inside to outside on the back.
I seem to recall a long time ago, I was looking for this info and that Land Rover measures from ground to wheel arch with 205x16 tyres on.
STOP PRESS
I just looked at the copy of the 1988 manual that I have.
The rear suspension spec IS drum roll>
Minimum 2.8 inches from axle to bump stop measured at the front outer corner of the bump stop.
There is no spec for the front.

Defenders:
Yes, the OME 980/981 fit the rear spring mount exactly. The OME HD (420lb) are good only for heavy loads. They're very comfortable if you have a loaded hardtop. The Nissan springs (OME 980) are somewhere between the 280lb and the 420lb - I don't remember exactly, if you like I can get the info tomorrow. On my 110 softop (without hardly any load) the feeling is very good on and off road.
